A commonly known rule in photography is the rule of space. As wedding photographer I use this technique regularly when shooting weddings. Frame your subject so they are either looking into or out of the frame. Their should be enough space, for the person you are photographing, to look into. This style of photography will intrigue your clients and others that see your work. I even apply this style to people that are in motion. For fast action I will frame the subjects with more space.
You will discover that placing space behind or in front of your subjects will incur different emotions to the viewer. To imply your bride and groom are leaving quickly frame them with the space at their backs. Or you can place space in front of them which will imply they have a specific location to reach. Practice this rule the next time you have a photo shoot. You will be pleasantly surprised by the improvement of your photos.
