The mesothelioma prognosis for pleural and peritoneal is still being debated. Doctors have been confused which of these two is deadly and short-lived. All types have less chance of detection for being rare and dormant and for doctors to determine which of the diseases have better staging and provide better prognosis is fairly difficult. After the removal of the affected lungs and pleura, the patient may survive and live longer than 5 years. As with other cancer cases, patient with mesothelioma cancer survives the ordeal depending on the persons state mind and physical health.
